SPF is excited to welcome Kurt Newbry and Holten White to the Lindsay family.
Holten White joins SPF Water Engineering as the newest Associate Engineer. At SPF, Holten will be working on water, wastewater, and general civil engineering projects and responsible for assisting project managers and project engineers with design and CAD drafting tasks.
Holten received his Associates degree in Civil Engineering Technology from Blue Mountain Community College before moving to Boise to further his education. Holten graduated from Boise State University with his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. He is currently studying to take the Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam in 2018.
Holten was born and raised in Irrigon, Oregon, along the Columbia River where there are great opportunities for water fowl hunting and bass fishing. He enjoys living in Boise, ID where he is able to pursue some of his hobbies, which include hunting, fishing, playing guitar and making music. Holten looks forward to contributing to such a well-respected and established engineering firm by using the skills that he has developed in geotechnical engineering and land development. He is excited to join the team at SPF and thankful for the opportunity to learn and contribute to the SPF’s vision and goals.
Robert “Kurt” Newbry joined SPF Water Engineering in November 2017. He is a state of Idaho Certified Professional Geologist and Water Rights Examiner and has been working in the field for over 10 years. Kurt’s projects have taken him all over the state of Idaho and into Arizona as well. He is experienced with all aspects of wells including water right procurement, geophysical logging, well design, construction, testing, sampling, and designing the pumping plants. Kurt also has extensive experience in long-term surface and ground water monitoring and interpretation. Kurt will be working with clients, agencies, and staff to successfully develop, build, and supervise SPF’s field services group and support SPF’s hydrogeological and groundwater consulting efforts.
Kurt grew up in Eastern Idaho, went to school in Northern Idaho, and now presides in Boise. From skiing/snowboarding at Grand Targhee, Schweitzer, Bogus Basin, and the Idaho backcountry; rafting on the Snake, Lochsa, Salmon, and Payette Rivers; mountain biking in the Boise foothills; and wake surfing at Lucky Peak, Kurt enjoys the outdoor opportunities Idaho has to offer.
