In honor of National Public Works Week, we invite YOU to come join in the fun! See if you can beat a tennis ball traveling through the sewer collection lines underneath Meridian. The race will start at the 8th Street Park, where a tennis ball will be put into the sewer line, and end at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Will you be faster than a tennis ball?
This event gets the entire family moving and is a great chance to learn about Meridian’s Wastewater Treatment Plant and what happens to water once it leaves your house. On the day of the race, we will be giving free tours of the facility so you can see exactly how we treat the City’s wastewater. The entry fee is a donation of non-perishable food for the Meridian Food Bank.
