Garden City, ID, September 25, 2013. The City of Garden City will dedicate its new water reservoir facility at 11:00a.m. on Thursday, September 26th at 165 E 46th Street in Garden City.
Mayor John Evans stated, “This facility is the first reservoir ever built in Garden City and will now provide further assurance to our residents and businesses of an ample water supply for fire protection as well as ongoing and emergency water needs.”
In addition to the 750,000 gallon reservoir, the project also includes a state-of-the-art booster pump station and improvements to other existing facilities on the city-owned property.
The $2 million project has been funded by the Garden City Urban Renewal Agency and is the final major project to be funded by the Agency in the River Front urban renewal district. The district has been terminated by the Agency and only several smaller infrastructure projects will be completed over the next 12 months in the wind down phase.
